A door that has jumped its track is crooked, jammed, and carrying its weight somewhere it was never meant to. Stop operating it. Every cycle from here bends something more expensive.
A sectional door is only structurally sound while its rollers are captured in the track. Once one or more have escaped, the load path is wrong: weight that should be distributed along the tracks is concentrated into panel edges, hinges and whichever cable is still doing its job. None of those parts were engineered for it.
What follows from running the opener anyway is fairly predictable. Splayed track, kinked cable, hinges tearing out of the section, a folded panel, and in the worst version a door that comes down under its own weight. Until it is back in the track properly, park outside and keep people out from under the opening.
Levering a door back into its track takes a competent technician about twenty minutes. Whether you are calling us again before spring depends entirely on whether anyone bothered to work out why it left. So we go through the whole assembly: roller wheels and stem play, track plumb and lag-bolt torque, drum seating and whether both cables carry equal tension, hinge plates and section edges for hidden tearing, and finally the balance once everything is back where it belongs.
When wind is the cause, the real fix is stiffening the door: a horizontal strut across the wide section, and confirming the roller brackets and track fasteners are properly torqued. When a frozen seal is the cause, it is a fresh bottom gasket and keeping snowmelt away from the slab edge. Reseating without addressing either just schedules the next visit.
Sometimes the off-track event creases a panel badly enough that straightening would leave a weak point. Individual sections can usually be ordered and swapped for far less than a whole door, and we will price both paths. On older doors where the section is discontinued and no match exists, replacement becomes the honest recommendation, and we will show you the numbers rather than steering you.
Please don't. The door is under spring tension and its weight is already in the wrong place. DIY attempts are how people get hurt and how cables and panels get damaged.

Largely, yes. A horizontal strut across a wide door plus properly torqued track fasteners and sound rollers makes a big difference. Builders routinely omit struts, which is why so many Front Range doors do this.
Snowmelt runs to the seal line, refreezes overnight, and bonds the gasket to the concrete. The opener then tries to lift a door that is glued down and racks it sideways. A fresh seal and a clear slab edge prevents most of it.
